Ernest Frank Kreicar, 75, entered into rest on Thursday September 13, 2001 at his residence. He was retired from Yorktown Naval Weapons Station as a civil service electrician.
He was a member of Northside Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon, and was a member of the Praymates Bible Class. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Warwick Lodge # 336 A.F.& A.M., and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He was preceded in death by a brother Walter Kreicar
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 52 years Ethel Bland Kreicar; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen O. and Cindy Kreicar of Toano, VA; a daughter and son-in-law Sharonne K. and Stephen J. Needre of James City County, VA; a sister Sophie Warner of Colonial Heights, VA; four grandchildren, Shanon Kreicar, Benjamin Kreicar, Skylar Needre, and Starr Needre; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service at 2:00pm Monday September 17, 2001 in Altmeyer Funeral Home Chapel in Newport News, VA, conducted by Reverend Larry Jones assisted by Mr. Larry Lamb. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park with U.S. Navy honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 16, 2001 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Northside Church of Christ Building fund, designated for the new kitchen.
Mr. Kreicar was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will always be held dear.
