HARTMAN, Emory L., 72, of Wheeling, WV, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008.
He was born November 28, 1935 in Preston County, WV.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the International Union #132, a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wheeling, and a member of the Elm Grove Eagles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Hartman and Mavis Vance Arbogast, stepfather, Paul Arbogast.
Surviving is his wife, Beverly Barr Hartman, three sons, Michael Hartman and his wife Jean of Wheeling; Jeffrey Hartman and his wife Shawn of Wheeling; Leon Hartman and his wife Stacy of Moundsville, WV; one brother, Larry Arbogast and his wife Carolyn of Ridgley, WV; two sisters, Sandy Arbogast and Linda Miller and her husband Clinton all of Ridgley; 8 grandchildren, Justin, Jordon, Kirstin, Austin, Cody, Kasey, Haley and Amanda, several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008 in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1409 Chaplin Street, Wheeling, with Pastor Debra Gable officiating.
Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.

I was so sorry to hear about Emory’s passing, he was such a kind and gentle man, ill always remember the good ole days on Mccolloch st., the softbsll games up at Tank field, my dad, Emory and Choppers, sitting up on the hill watching and tippin a few back… yelling for the merchants and the laughlin chapel softball teams, coaching from on top of the hill, i know you all are going through a horrible time now and i will keep all of you in my prayers, just remember you all have a very special gaurdian angel watching over you now, we will all meet again one day
