Elvera M. Marco Stone, 88, formerly of Benwood, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in Florence, KY.
She was born on May 4, 1926, in Benwood, a daughter of the late Francisco and Florence Viscoglosi Marco.
Elvera was a retired employee of G.C. Murphy Co. in Wheeling, WV, and a member of St. John Catholic Church, Benwood.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Stone, in 2009; a son, Michael Stone, in 1989; two sisters, Helen Norden, in 2014, and Rosemary Cunningham, in 2000.
Surviving is her granddaughter, Erin L. Stone Bandy, and her husband, Daniel, of Florence, KY; great-grandson Corbin Stone Bandy; brother Fred Marco of Glen Dale, WV; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends received 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St., McMechen, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, at St. John Catholic Church, 622 Main St., Benwood, WV, 26031.
Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. In lieu of flowers, please offer donations to St. John Catholic Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass-NKY, 7388 Turfway Rd., Florence, KY, 41042.

So sorry to hear of Elvera’s passing. We were co-workers at Murphy’s way back in the mid to late 1960’s. My deepest symapthy to her family and friends.
