Dear Jane and Ginger,

Since we have not seen one another for many, many years, you may not remember me. I am Helen Mobley Sills, your step-aunt and daughter of Will and Helen Mobley. Your father, Herman, who I barely remember was my step-brother, from my father’s first marriage

My cousin, Joanne Boyle Bell, who lives in Bridgeport, called me last evening to tell me about your mother, Elva’s passing. She said Elva lived to be 101!! You were very lucky to have her with you such a long time, and I’m sure you are deeply saddened by her passing. I have fond memories of your mother. My mother and I occasionally stopped in to see her at her place of work in Bridgeport. At the time of these visits, I was probaby only 5 – 10 years old. I also have a vague memory of seeing both of you.

My memories of your mother are of a warm and friendly woman with a big smile. She seemed gentle and kind. As you grieve for her, I will remember you in my prayers.

To bring you up-to-date on my life. My mother and I moved to Dayton, Ohio after my father’s death. I was 14 at the time. Later I married a wonderful man, Fred, and we had five children. Because three of the children are married and living in Phoenix, we spend our winters out here. I understand, from Joanne, that you live in Grand Junction, CO and Tennessee.

If you should ever wish to contact me, I can be reached at the following phone numbers:

From Oct 30 – April 10 in Sun City, AZ 623-218-6715

From April 15 – Oct 20 in Dayton, OH 937-432-6713

I would love to hear from you. In the meantime – stay strong and trust in the Lord!

Love – your Aunt Helen Mobley Sills
