Elnora M. Stenger

STENGER, Elnora M. Riddel, 90, formerly Wheeling Island, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at Forest Hills Retirement Community, St. Clairsville, OH.
Born in Bellaire OH, on January 26, 1918, Elnora was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Snider Riddel.
She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and a member of the former Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
She was co-owner of Becker’s Hardware and Feed in Wheeling for many years.
Elnora was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Carroll Court #299, and the St Joseph’s Women’s Guild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L. Lloyd Stenger in 1997, two brothers, Frank and Harold Riddel.
Surviving are one daughter, Laurale K. Hetzel and her husband John of Wheeling; one son, Donald Stenger and his wife Sharon of Wheeling; three grandsons, Larry J. Hetzel and his wife Brenda of Wheeling; Jim L. Hetzel and his wife Connie of Reno, NV; Jerry L. Hetzel and his wife Kim of Wheeling; one brother, Charles Riddel of Lancaster, OH; six great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling WV, where vigil services will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, with Rev. Kevin Quirk as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
