Eleanor Carolyn Jackson passed away peacefully at her home, January 11th, 2012, with her husband at her side. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Frederic Jackson; her son Rick Jackson and Vic of Charlotte, NC; her daughters, Jill Leech and husband Glenn, of Richmond and Judith Kline and husband Everette of Madison, VA; her grandchildren Michelle Watkins and husband Spencer of Charlottesville, VA and Nathan Kline and fiancée Emily of Madison, VA; and her brothers, James Dickson of Henryville, IN and Charles Dickson of Reno, NV.
Eleanor was born on May 7th, 1922 in Henryville, IN and graduated from high school there with her father as an instructor and principal. She married Fred Jackson in March of 1944 in Jacksonville, FL. She was involved in volunteer activities and an active member of First Presbyterian Church. Eleanor was a devoted wife and cherished her children and grandchildren. She delighted in her flower garden, friends and travel.
A memorial service will be held in the Altmeyer Maestas Chapel on Baltic Avenue Sunday, January 15th at 4:00pm.
