Edward Ofat SR., 85 of Bellaire, Ohio died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born March, 2, 1929 in Stewartsville, Ohio a son of the late Stanley and Theresa Jandora Ofat. Ed was a decorated Veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War, he worked for Wheeling Wholesale Grocery as a truck driver and also worked in the warehouse, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Neffs, OH and life long member of the Teamsters Local 697 in Wheeling, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Catherine Halicky Ofat, and four brothers, John and Pete Pollock and Stanley and Ted Ofat. He is survived by his children Edward Lana Ofat Jr. of Bellaire, OH, Rick Ofat of St. Joe, OH, Theresa Ofat of East Liverpool, OH and Joan Ofat of St. Joe, OH as well as a sister Mary Holub of Stewartsville, OH and five grandchildren, Chris, Jay, Alyssa, Adam and Nikki Ofat. Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441, 37th St. in Bellaire, OH from 3 to 8 pm on Friday, February 27, 2015. Military Honors will be conducted at 7 pm by the Belmont County Veterans Association. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Neffs, OH, on Saturday, February 28, 2015 with Fr. Daniel Heusel officiating. Burial will take place in Mt.
