OSTERMAN, Edward L., 70, of 35 Chantal Ave., Wheeling, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Wheeling.

He was born in Wheeling January 19, 1931, the son of the late Edward L. Osterman, Sr. and Margaret Connell Osterman Niggemyer.

A member of the Knights of Columbus #504 a member of the Knights of Columbus Golf Club, a Lifetime Member of the Cave Club and a member of theHoly Name Society at St. Michael Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Bernard Niggemyer and a step-brother, Bernard ”Buddy” Niggemyer. Surviving is his wife, Betty L. Bishop Osterman of Wheeling, two sons, Thomas E. Osterman and Eric W. Osterman and his wife Penny, both of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Joyce Haas and her husband Robert of Denver, Colorado, Phyllis Leech and her husband David and Paula Cook and her husband Robert, both of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Ann Shepherd and her husband Charles of Wheeling; four step-brothers, Robert Niggemyer of Wheeling, Paul Niggemyer of Elm Grove, Ralph Niggemyer of Fairmont and George Niggemyer of Zanesville, Ohio; one step-sister, Mary Elizabeth Trischler of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania OSTERMAN and ten grandchildren.

Friends will be received Monday, November 26, 2001, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2001, at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. James Sobus as celebrant. Vigil services will be Monday at 3:45 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus Carroll Council 504, 118 Edgington Lane, Wheeling.
