Edward James O’Hara "Bud", 88, of Wheeling, WV died Monday, August 12, 2002 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born March 12, 1914 in Wheeling, the son of the late Edward and Margaret Sattler O’Hara.
He was a former employee of the West Virginia Department of Labor and retired from Peoples Life Insurance Company. He was a fifty-two year member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Wheeling. He is a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and a sixty year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #437, Moundsville.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Bernard O’Hara and a sister, Marge Raab.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-two years, Rose E. Augustine O’Hara; two sons, Edward "Butch" O’Hara and his wife, Mary of Wheeling, Mike O’Hara and his wife, Dee of West Liberty; one daughter, Patti Hoskins and her husband, Larry of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Holly Coville and her husband, Rico of Wheeling, A.J. Auber and his wife, Tracey of Spokane, WA., Dave Hoskins, Christy Hoskins, Jennifer O’Hara and Matt O’Hara all of Wheeling; two great-grandchildren, Jenna Auber of Spoken and Kaiden Laboric of Wheeling.
Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Rev. James Sobus officiating. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, with Moundsville Honor Guard performing graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Michael development fund, 1225 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.
