EDNA MAE GRELLA 86 OF BELLAIRE DIED SATURDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2005 AT THE EAST OHIO REGIONAL HOSPITAL AT MARTINS FERRY. SHE WAS BORN DECEMBER 5, 1918 IN BELLAIRE A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE CHARLES L. AND EMMA MORESCO GRELLA. EDNA WAS A RETIRED HEAD CASHIER WITH THE FORMER EQUITABLE LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY WHEELING DISTRICT OFFICE. SHE WAS A LIFELONG MEMEMBER OF THE FORMER FIRST REFORMED CHURCH UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST IN BELLAIRE WHERE SHE SERVED AS A DEACON, TAUGHT SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR OVER 50 YRS, SERVED AS A YOUTH COUNSELOR FOR 20 YRS AND WAS FINANCIAL SECRETARY FOR 37 YRS. SHE ALSO SANG IN THE CHOIR AND WAS ACTIVE WITH VARIOUS COMMITTEES. SHE CURRENTLY ATTENDED THE BELLAIRE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. EDNA WAS A GRADUATE OF BELLAIRE HIGH SCHOOL AND THE ELLIOTT BUSINESS SCHOOL. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS, SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER BROTHER, ROBERT GRELLA
SURVIVING ARE SEVERAL COUSINS AND CLOSE FRIENDS. FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL BE RECEIVED AT THE BAUKNECHT-ALTMEYER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY 441 37TH STREET BELLAIRE ON TUESDAY FROM 11 AM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICES AT 1 PM WITH PASTOR PETE WALBURN OFFICIATING. INTERMENT IN THE GREENWOOD CEMETERY IN BELLAIRE.

I wanted to write and say what a nice lady Edna Mae was. I was organist at the United Church of Christ for several years and she would give me my music for the following week’s services. I would chat with her every week and she was just a sweet lady. She will be missed.
