Dear Gram and Pap,

I am sad that you guys are gone. Guess what we got? We got a new kitten named Frankie. Pittsburgh made it to the playoffs. They lost the first game to Jacksonville. I know that would make you mad! I miss talking about football with you. I am very interested in WWII. I am doing my social studies fair project on DDay. I wish I could ask you two questions.

Love,

Ryan

PS: Mommy did not want me to tell you this, but I love being the 1992 Oilers on Madden Football 2007!

Dear Grandma,

We have been logging on to Pap’s guestbook to see all of the new entries filled with love, support, and an overt knowledge of what was wrong with the funeral facade. This afternoon, when I logged on, it said the book was closed due to the request of the “family.” I think some looney tune got the hint! No one I have talked to in OUR family had it closed!

Anyway, we thought we could use yours to continue our entries of love for you and Pap! So, today, in honor of your anniversary, 6oth??? Mark and I are drinking a bottle of your special Amish Rhubarb wine! You know what Mark likes to do with those empty bottles!!!!

You are both loved and missed more than you will ever know! Tell Minnie hello!

Dear Grandma,

I hope you are up there having fun, telling people to get you a soda and what not. Colin and I still laugh about that! “Yoooooou, get the sodas!”

My weekend workshop at Johns Hopkins University is coming up. I know you and Pap liked to hear about those! We are all going to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons this summer with my CTY group! I will miss not being able to tell you about my excursions. You always liked to listen to my stories. I miss you! Tell Pap I said hello!

Grandma,

Happy Anniversary!!! I know you and Pap have finally made it back together where you belong. I bet you have reservations to see Elvis Presley and Minnie Pearl tonight. Celebrate just like you did before.

I have to give it to you Grandma. Your kids respected your wishes with having a viewing for Pap’s funeral. We all know he didn’t want that, or at least the ones who cared for him and his feelings and actually talked to him, but once again his words weren’t heard by several. All the talk about what a mean mom you were and they still cater to your wishes even when your gone. Your AWESOME! Tell Pap we are sorry, we really thought they would do what he wanted to spite you but they must be afraid to hurt your feelings.

Hope all is great with the two of you. You shared many happy years together here and have many more to spend together up there. We all miss you very much…you know who I mean. Thanks for everything. By the way, everyone loves my ring you left me, it’s still as beautiful as the day you gave it to me.

Love, Terri

Hi Grandma! Christa and I were just discussing the fact that it was your anniversary today. I wanted to suggest you wear that special white shirt with the green “leaves” on it when you and Pap go to the show tonight!!! You know how much we all loved that shirt! We miss you lots! Give our love to Pap, too!

To Gram and Pap,

Happy 60th Anniversary…congratulations. I know you all are having a good old time just enjoying each others company. Thanks for all the good times we had, I really enjoyed and miss hearing about the shows you all attended at the Capitol Music Hall, Victorian Theatre, and stories about playing for WVU GO MOUNTAINEERS!!. I’ll never forget the first night Terri brought me to meet you all when we were dating – I think me and Pap caught a boat load of fish and shot many deer that night just sitting in your kitchen telling stories, you made me feel right at home. Miss you both.

Tom, Sue, Terri, Trent, Christa and all the others that really loved Gram and Pap, I am sorry for your loss. They are together now and are enjoying being in each others company.
