Edmund “Eddie” Bednarczyk, 88, of Powhatan Point, Ohio died peacefully, Sunday, September 14, 2008 in the Shadyside Care Center.

Eddie was born November 26, 1919 in Barton, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Ruthkoska Bednarczyk.

He was retired from The Ormet Corporation of Hannibal, Ohio, a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Powhatan Point, DAV Post #117 Bellaire, Ormet Retirees Group, UMWA #1785 of Bridgeport and a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, George and Stanley Bednarczyk and two sisters Josephine Bednarczyk and Helen Sekunda.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Anna Marie “Mary” Bednarczyk, a son Gary Bednarczyk and his wife Sherry of Powhatan Point, two grandchildren, Drew Bednarczyk and Devon Bednarczyk, three brothers, Joseph Bednarczyk of Dayton, OH, Andy Nora Bednarczyk of Powhatan Point. and Frank Bednarczyk of Follansbee, WV.

Family and Friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, Ohio Tuesday from 10a.m. until time of funeral service at 1p.m. with Monsignor Gene W. Mullet officiating.

Interment in Powhatan Cemetery Powhatan Point, Ohio.

The Powhatan Veterans Honor Guard will conduct graveside Military services.

To the Family of Edmund Bednarczyk

He was a friend of mine who was kind loving and caring. He and his wife Anna would vist me at the UMWA often. I would have a nice visit with them his garden he would also bring me veggies. You have my deepest sympathy. He will never be forgotten. My prayers will be with the family.
