Virginia Beach- Edith Ann Humphreys Hill, 84, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2013 while surrounded by family and friends. Born in Sutton, West Virginia, she came to reside in Virginia Beach in 1953. Edith was a founding member of Kempsville Presbyterian Church and a retiree of Verizon. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles CJ and her baby daughter, Linda Marlene along with two sisters, Mary Lee Doughty and Virginia Wooddell; three brothers, Hal, George and James Humphreys.

She is survived by three children, Lora Bunny Cutler, husband Roy, David Hill, wife Dawn, and Rebecca Freeman, husband Joseph along with eleven grand and great-grand children; sisters, Majorie Hill and Dorothy Soule; brothers Levi, Lon and John Humphreys. The family wishes to thank Sentara Hospice and Sandy Stacey for their loving care and support.

A Visitation will be at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5792 Greenwich Road. Virginia Beach from 6 to 7:30 pm Tuesday, June 11th, with a graveside service Wednesday, June 12th in Rosewood Memorial Park 631 N.Witchduck Road at 1pm. Bunny, David, & Becky, I am so sorry for your loss. Edith was a truly special woman & I will never forget her kindness to me & the boys. Heaven has another angel to watch over us.

Dear Bunny & Hill Family, I was so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. It seems we are all reaching the age where there is so much loss. However, when I think of my my Mom & Dad, I try to dwell of fun memories and find comfort in that. You’re in my thoughts & prayers. Time will heal & memories will give you comfort. Take Care, Ewing

Dear Dave,Bunny and Becky,

I was saddened to hear of your Mom passing she was and always be a very sweet, gentle, southern lady.She welcomed everyone into her not just her home but her heart. She is with her true love now in peace and they will watch and protect you from above.
