DeFranco, Edith Angela, 87, of Shadyside, Ohio died Sunday June 2, 2013 in Wheeling Hospital Wheeling, WV.

Edith was born December 19, 1925 in Wheeling WV, a daughter of the late Alfred and Angela Spadafora Maruca.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Shadyside, OH.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Alfred Anthony DeFranco in 1996 and two sisters; Mary Maruca and Gloria Tedeschi.

Surviving is a son, Alfred James DeFranco of Charleston, WV and a daughter, Diane Bill Kern of Copley, OH, two sisters; Adeline Leffe of Wheeling, WV and Dorothy Apicella of Shadyside, OH, a sister-in-law, Connie D’Amico of Shadyside, OH, a grand daughter, Jennifer Eric Cooper and a great granddaughter, Lily Diane Cooper, Many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 6-8p.m. Wednesday June 5, 2013 at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will begin at 10a.m. Thursday at St Mary’s Catholic Church Shadyside, OH.

Interment will be in Mt Calvary Cemetery Wheeling, WV.
