A Better Place

He’s in a better place right now

Than He’s ever been before;

All pain is gone; He’s now at rest;

Nothing troubles him anymore.

It’s we who feel the loss of

Of his wisdom in our grief;

For he was a man among men

Far beyond belief.

We know we’ll reconnect with him

At the end of our Masonic Road road;

We’ll see his cherished face again

When we release our earthly load.

“Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people–they always go away sooner or later. You can’t hold them anymore than you can hold moonlight. But if they’ve touched you, if they’re inside you, then they’re still yours. The only things you ever really have are the ones you hold inside your heart.” Bruce Coville

Deputy Johnson will be greatly missed. We spoke periodically and he was my mentor. I was always impressed by the many sacrifices he made for others. He spent his life helping others. He definitely worked the works of him that sent him while it was day. He has now been rewarded by the almighty on high. Rest peacefully my brother.

Eternal God and Father,

we praise you that you have made people to share life together

and to reflect your glory in the world. We thank you now for D.R. ,

for all that we saw of your goodness and love in his life

and for all that he means to each one of us. As we too journey towards death may we do so in the company of Jesus, who came to share our life that we might share the life of eternity. To him be glory with you and the Holy Spirit

for ever and ever.

Amen.

He will truly be missed! He was my Friend, Mentor, Confidant and my Masonic Father. “DR” took my petition to Torii Lodge #46, when he was only a visiting member, he was my first Commander-In-Chief Keystone Consistory #85, he whispered in my ear as I crossed the desert Obelisk #187 he later advised me as Potentate #187 and recommended my nomination to receive the 33rd Degree Grand Inspector General. I hope to honor his memory as he would wish service to others, as he would say “It’s not about me” and “I ain’t trying to get in your business, just trying to help you.” If you should see a tear fall, please don’t wipe it away, for this man, I shall cry a river. Forever Loved and Remembered!

Thank you Sam for sharing him with us!

It will be the little things

that you will remember,

the quiet moments,

the smiles, the laughter.

And although it may seem

hard right now,

it will be the memories

of these little things

that help to push

away the pain

and bring the smiles

back again.

My Dear Brother Dwight, we will miss you forever and we will never forget you. You and your wife were our rocks to lean on when we lost our beloved husband and father a few years ago. We hope that we will be the rocks for your wife and children to lean on in these next few months. The world is a better place because of you and your love of life and all things good. You had a big heart and a kind soul. We will miss you terribly and we will always love you. You are safe in God’s arms. Know that we have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers and we will always be here for your family when they need us.

Remembering D.R. Johnson, 33°

Okinawa, Japan

D.R. has taken flight, but his works here on earth will never be forgotten. His loving spirit shall forever linger with the Prince Hall Family. His works speak for him. D.R. never forgot his family and continuously spoke of them as he traveled and led others in his Masonic works. He mentored all who sought his wisdom and guidance. Keystone Assembly #71 was nurtured, blessed and strengthened through his efforts as our Deputy. The Lord has given and the Lord taketh away – Blessed by the name of the Lord.
