REYNOLDS, Dorothy A. Burger, 87, of Wheeling, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Dorothy was born July 17, 1921 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Henry William and Matilda Marie Auth Burger. She was a retired employee of the Ohio County Board of Education and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Reynolds in 2001; and a daughter, Bonnie G. Reynolds in 1984.
Dorothy is survived by her eight children, Richard A. Reynolds and his wife, Sharon of Wheeling, Patrick L. Reynolds and his wife, Christine of Inwood, W.Va., Dennis A. Reynolds and his wife, Elizabeth of Wheeling, Phillip J. “P.J.” Reynolds and his wife, Joy of Colerain, Ohio, Colleen Riggle and her husband, Nick of Cameron, W.Va., Emily Leffe and her husband, Joseph of Wheeling, Maureen Reynolds and her husband, William Ford of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Toni Reynolds and her husband, Kevin McCauley of Moundsville; a brother, Henry Burger of Shadyside, Ohio; a sister, Elizabeth Ries of St. Clairsville, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Tuesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery Bishop’s Chapel, Wheeling with the Rev. Eugene Ostrowski officiating. Entombment in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Ohio County S.P.C.A., Rd. 2, Box 370BB, Triadelphia, WV 26059.
