Donald Mercer, 85, of Kinsman Road, St. Clairsville, Ohio died Saturday, July 19, 2008 in Weirton Medical Center.

He was born October 23, 1922 in Harrison County, Ohio, son of the late Carl and Anietta Murdock Mercer.

Dnald was a former employee of R & F Coal Company. His hobby was the “Never Done Farm” on Kinsman Road.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Dysart Mercer in 1996.

Surving are his children, Jeff Debbie Mercer of Kinsman Road; his daughter, Marsha Mercer John Bolner of Weirton, W.Va., his grandson, Michael Amber Mercer of Maynard, Ohio; and his great granddaughter, Madison Mercer.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Monday at 11 a.m. at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, St. Clairsville, with the Rev. Darrell McVay officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.

I am so sorry about Don. Last I knew he was doing fine. We are sorry we didnt get to the visitation, I didnt know anything about it until late monday night.

I will miss him brush-hogging the field next to my house. The Hornes

Jeff, I am so sorry to here of your father’s passing. I know the pain that you must carry. He was a good man and brought a good son to take up after his departure. May God bless you with peace of heart in this troubled time.
