Donald E. Mills

Donald Edward Mills, 76, died September 13, 2012. Mr. Mills was born in Danville, VA to the late Hugh E. and Ollie Mae Wilson Mills. He a veteran having served in the US Navy for 20 years. Mr. Mills was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. He was predeceased by a son, Dennis E. Mills, and a sister, Lula M. Gauldin.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Olga A. Mills; children, Cindy Sue Jones of Virginia Beach, Daniel John Mills Melanie of Brussels, Belgium, and Sheila Marie Robino Mark of Chesapeake; siblings, Fred “Jimmy” Mills DeeDee, Rose “Susie” Gerrells, and Bonnie M. Hales Scott, all of Danville; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd, VA Beach on Saturday from 7:00 until 8:30 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at Sharon Baptist Church in Danville with Pastor Charlie Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Mills family cemetery. Dear Olga and Cindy,

We were saddened to hear about the passing of Donald. You are in our prayers. We will be out of town for the next few days with Sam’s niece and will be unable to come to the viewing tonight. Sorry for your loss.
