Donald E. "Perk" Weidger
Age 71

Donald E. "Perk" Weidger, 71, of Highl;and Drive, East Liverpool, OH died on May 27, 2003 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness. He was born in Steubenville, OH on December 6, 1931 the son of the late Earl and Edith Morrow Weidger.

Mr. Weidger moved from Toronto, OH to East Liverpool 12 years ago, retiring from the Levelor Co. where he was the Shipping Supervisor. He was a member of the Toronto High School Class of 1949, attended the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, was a life member of the VFW Post 66 and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

His wife, Linda Weber Swigert Weidger, whom he married May 10, 1991, survives him at home as well as two sons: Scott A. Swigert and his wife, Bonnie of Lisbon, OH and Mark A. Swigert and his wife, Shelley of East Liverpool, OH; a daughter: Susanne Dailey and her husband, James of East liverpool, OH; a brother: James Cramer and his wife, Linda of Zanesville, OH and three grandchildren: Jobe Swigert, Hannah Swigert and Zachary Dailey.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Jane Weidger.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 11:00 AM with Rev. William Church of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Friday, May 30, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
