Donald “Donnie” Hickman, 75, of Salineville, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 2, 2014 after suddenly becoming ill.

Donnie was born in Steubenville Ohio on December 22, 1938, a son of the late Charles Hickman and Dorothy Bell Meek. Having lived all his life in the area, he was a graduate of Wellsville High School Class of 1957. He was an active member of the VFW Post 5647 and a member of the Eagles Lodge #772. Donnie Retired from Crucible Steel in 1982 and at one time was the animal control officer in Wellsville.

He is survived by the love of his life, Jackie Hickman of Salineville, OH; three sons: Donald Hickman Jr. of Wellsville, Kevin Hickman and Leslie of Wellsville, and James Hickman and Kelsi of Calcutta; three daughters: Michele Brown of Boardman, Melissa Dangelo of Salem, and Jenee Pajak of Jupiter, FL; two brothers: Bill Hickman and Janice of Lorain, and Charles Hickman II of Steubenville; two sisters: Darlene Garner of Las Vegas NV, and Mary Ola Stemple of Howland; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several beloved pets. He was an avid Steeler fan, loved spending time with his buddies at the VFW, and taking care of his animals on his farm.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home on Friday February 7, 2014 at 2 PM with Will Montgomery of the Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Wellsville.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday February 6, 2014 from 4-8 PM
