Hamilton, Delores McCoy, 92, of Massillon, Ohio, Formerly of Shadyside, OH, died April 6, 2015 in Canton, OH.

Delores was born October 6, 1922 in McClainsville, OH a daughter of the late J.C. “Dick and Mabel Workman McCoy.

She was a homemaker and during WWII worked at Timken Steel in Canton as a recorder and volunteered as a Nurse’s Aide at Aultman Hosptial until the end of the war. She was a member of the Church of Christ Massillon, Ohio and was a 1941 graduate of Bellaire High School.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Evangelist John M. Hamilton, five brothers; Clarence, Glenn, Charles, Richard “Bud” and Bill McCoy and a sister, Liz Dailey.

Surviving is a daughter, Nancy Jo Hamilton of Massillon, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received 4-8pm Thursday at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Friday with Howard Spengler and Rannie Cox officiating.

Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. I have many fond memories of growing up in Woodsfield. And attending Woodsfield Church of Christ with you. Of your Dad being the Preacher. And your dear Mom teaching my brother, Nelson, and I Bible stories, in Sunday school. She was a fine lady. God Bless…

Nancy, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She must have been loved by everyone who knew her. Your loss is heaven’s gain. But remember — there’s a great reunion coming.

Nancy, You probably don’t remember me, but you dad was a minister where we were members at the Woodsfield Church of Christ in Woodsfield, Ohio.Your dad baptized me . So sorry about your mom.Know that she is in a better place. Am praying for you. Donna Willison Sims.
