VIGIL SERVICE 1 PM SUNDAY

Della Marie LYSIEN, 86 of 54491 Lysien Road, Powhatan Point, Ohio passed away Friday March 11, 2005 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital Glen Dale, West Virginia, in the presence of her loved ones.

Della was born October 6, 1918, in Carnegie, Pa. a daughter of the late Isador and Anna Pajak Shalayka.

She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, all of Powhatan Point; the Powhatan Fire Department Auxiliary and the Catholic Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Bruno Shalayka and three sisters, Helen Biega and Jenny and Stephanie Shalayka.

Surviving are her husband, Carl M. Lysien; two sons, Michael Betty Joe Lysien of Pickerington, Ohio, and John "Jed" Kathy Lysien of Powhatan Point, Ohio, a brother, Walter Helen Shalayka of Benwood, West Virginia, a brother in law, Pat Biega of Benwood, West Virginia, four grandchildren, Kristine Marie Ted Tsoras, Trisha Elaine Kirt Elerick, Amanda Darrin Via and Mitch Lysien and her great grandchildren, Bubba’s little angels, Kamdyn K. Elerick, Kierstyn E. Elerick, and Kristopher L. Tsoras.

Friends will be received from Noon to 8 PM on Sunday at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, Ohio.

Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday in St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Monsignor Gene W. Mullett as celebrant.

Interment will be in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.

A vigil service will be held on Sunday at 1 PM in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Reynolds Memorial Hospital Skilled Care Unit, Glen Dale, West Virginia.
