Della Mae Forrester Dierkes, 81, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
Della was born Sept. 1, 1921 in Wheeling, daughter of the late George W. and Ida M. McCulley Forrester.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Albert Dierkes; three brothers, Joseph, Ervine and Woodrow Forrester; and a sister, Ora Danley.
Surviving are her two children, Larry J. Dierkes and his wife, Judy, of Wheeling and Judy A. Voight and her husband Henry, of Houston, Texas, four grandchildren, Patricia Brandenburg, Tammy Rapp and Brad Dierkes, all of Wheeling and Michelle MacRae of Huntington Beach, California; five great-grandchildren, Nikki and Dana Brandenburg, Brooke and Brianne Dierkes and Luke Rapp, all of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will received from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and noon until 3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, where vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Monday Jan. 20, 2003 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. H. Joseph Wilhelm, S.M. as celebrant. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
