Gibbs, Delan Drew, 47, son of Louise Wilson of Moundsville and the late Gerald C. Gibbs, Sr. passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 in Gables Care Center, Hopedale, OH.
He was born December 15, 1963 in Youngstown, OH. Delan was a U. S. Army veteran and a Christian by faith.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his step-father, John Wilson of Moundsville; a brother, Gerald C. Gibbs, Jr. of Hopedale; a sister, Tonya L. Smith Jeffrey of California; six nephews.
Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, November 25, 2011 with Rev. Michael Brown officiating.
There will be no visitation on Thursday.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made in Delan’s memory to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018.

Dear Louise, My sympathies on your loss. John told me that you had been ill and your son was suffering from Huntington’s. I cannot imagine your loss but know that he suffers no more and that he is with God. My prayers to you and the rest of yur family. Michael Baker

Louise, I will never forget the look in Delan’s eyes when we visited him. He had such a look of love and trust as he looked at you. I can’t imagine the pain your heart feels! I am here to listen and Delbert and I love ya!! May God hold you while you cry!
