Carol and Madison,

I started at State Farm the same day as Fish, we went to estimator school togther plus all the other training as well. Fish told me to never mention this but when we went to State Farm corporate we showed up to class an hour early because of the time Zone. I tried to tell him we were going to be early but he insisted there was no time difference. After we arrived an hour early we sat there and laughed for 15 minutes about it. He told me to never tell that little story but I thought I would share. Also, every time I went to Wheeling to work with Fish or Terry, they always met me together and I knew I was in trouble. You get those two together and trouble was around the corner, HAHA. One of the things I loved about Fish, he always looked at the glass half full never half empty. I know you will miss David very much but we too will miss having him around. Fish was a good man he will be missed by all. My heart and thoughts go out to you and Maddie.

Carole & Maddie,

I could never express in person or with words on paper how much Dave means to me. I can accurately state that Dave is the greatest man I’ve ever met. Since his illness began I’ve anxiously waited for him to walk in the door at work or to see his van parked in the lot with him on the phone. Often times we played phone tag for a week trying to track each other down just to catch up for a minute on life. He cared, he really, really cared! The last thing Dave told me on August 28th was that if Stacy or the kids needed anything while I was traveling to make sure they called him…even if I was just an hour away. I expressed the same to him. Please let me know if there is anything I can do, at any time day or night, to help make life a little easier on you. He was my friend, my co-worker, and my idol. He epitomized how people should treat others and people should enjoy life. May God Bless you each and everyday.

Carole & Maddy,

I just heard of Dave’s passing. Dave touched so many people, I was one of them. I owe my career to him. I still conduct my work and life following many of the instructions and advice Dave provided to me during my initial coaching with him. I feel extremely lucky to have known him and I know that there are many that have come into contact with him that share this feeling. Dave is still with all of us, his endless optimism, his refusal to speak a negetive word of anyone, and his constant engouragement remains strong in every person that knew him.

Carole & Maddy,

Words can not express how sorry I am for your loss. As so many others have said, Dave was a wonderful person, inside and out, who touched so many lives. His devotion to his family and friends and his attitude toward life set the bar for others to follow. Dave was a blessing to all who knew him. May you find peace in his memories. With love and deepest sympathy,

Carole & Madison – Words can’t express the loss I know you must feel. I met Dave not long after I started at State Farm. I knew if he represented the rest of the company, that I’d made a great choice to join up! Everytime I saw him, he beamed with pride a the latest picture of Madison, and I know that his two girls completed his life. My thoughts and prayers are with you, yet I know he will live on in the lives you both lead from here on out.

Carole & Madison,

I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was a wonderful man who will be remembered for his smile and dedication to his family. Dave went to lunch with me on my last day at State Farm and I never forgot the advice he gave me. He told me not to worry about the little things in life to always remember to focus on family, because that’s the most important part of your life. I know he lived by those words. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

CAROLE AND MADDIE—- I KNOW IT HAS TAKEN ME A WHILE TO SEND THIS. IT IS STILL HARD TO COMPREHEND THAT DAVID IS GONE.YOU BOTH HAVE MY COMPLETE SYMPATHY. AND I WILL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU BOTH. YOU ARE REALLY SPECIAL TO ME. I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THE GOOD TIMES WE HAD WITH DAVID AND WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER ALL THE GOOD THINGS HE DID FOR PEOPLE—BOTH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE NEVER COULD DO ENOUGH.!!! I FOUND THIS VERSE IN A MAGAZINE ONE EVENING AND IT REMINDED ME OF HOW DAVID LIVED HIS LIFE. ” THE OPTIMIST’S CREED–PROMISE YOURSELF–TO BE SO STRONG THAT NOTHING CAN DISTURB YOUR PEACE OF MIND–TO TALK HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND PROSPERTITY TO EVERY PERSON YOU MEET–TO MAKE ALL YOUR FRIENDS FEEL THAT THERE IS SOMETHING IN THEM–TO LOOK AT THE SUNNY SIDE OF EVERYTHING AND MAKE YOUR OPTIMISM COME TRUE–TO THINK ONLY OF THE BEST,TO WORK ONLY FOR THE BEST AND TO EXPECT ONLY THE BEST–TO BE JUST AS ENTHUSIATSIC ABOUT THE SUCCESS OF OTHERS AS YOU ARE ABOUT YOUR OWN–TO FORGET THE MISTAKES OF THE PAST AND PRESS ON TO THE GREATER ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE FUTURE–TO WEAR A CHEERFUL COUNTENANCE AT ALL TIMES AND GIVE EVERY LIVING CREATURE YOU MEET A SMILE–TO GIVE SO MUCH TIME TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF YOURSELF THAT YOU HAVE NO TIME TO CRITIZISE OTHERS–TO BE TOO LARGE FOR WORRY, TOO NOBLE FOR ANGER, TOO STRONG FOR TEARS AND TOO HAPPY TO PERMIT THE PRESENCE OF TROUBLE.” CAROLE AND MADDIE–IF YOU EVER NEED ANYTHING JUST CALL. STAY STRONG. LOVE, EVELYN

Dear Carole and Fisher Family,

My sincerest sympathy to all of you. What a shock to hear of David’s passing. Carole, I do not know if you remember me or not, I was the Receptionist at Specialty Auto Center for many years. I moved away from Wheeling in Sept. 2001 and I ran into David at a car dealership in Weirton in the spring of 2001. I also spoke to him in Oct 2005 he was always such a kind and honest person to deal with when I would see him at the Shop to do his auto estimates. He always took the time to ask me about my health and he would speak of you and then when he became a Father he would talk about his little girl. His smile lit up the office as he spoke of both of you. I know how hard this must be for your daughter and yourself and family. I am truly sorry to hear of this tragic loss. May God Bless all of you and may he rest in Peace. Sincerely, Jan and Doug Donley

Dear Carole,

You and Maddy are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of David. We never knew David, but from reading what others had to say about him, makes me this of the bible verse.

Dear Fisher Family, David was my sister’s boyfirend back in the 70’s when he was a young kid. He spent alot of time with our family on summer vacations and just hanging out with us. He really was unlike anyone I have ever met! Always upbeat, he had such a quick wit and tremendous sense of humor! I had lost track of him in the last 15 years or so, but from the comments already posted it is clear that time had not changed him. All these years down the road and I still smile when I think about him and those days. His death is a great loss to all who knew him.
