Darlene VanFossen Moffett
Age 73
Darlene VanFossen Moffett 73, of West 6th Street, East Liverpool, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 3, 2002 at home following a brief illness.
She was born in Leroy, West Virginia on October 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna ”Pearl” Wilson VanFossen.
Mrs. Moffett, living in East Liverpool since her childhood, was the office manager at the former Inn Town Motel in East Liverpool.
Her husband, Richard O. Moffett, died May 14, 1982. She is survived by four sons, David Williams and his wife Sue of East Liverpool, Phillip Moffett and his wife Lisa of East Liverpool, Curt Moffett and his wife Shelley of East Liverpool and Jeff Moffett and his wife Karla of Conway, South Carolina; two daughters, Betty Beagle-Casto and her husband Tom of East Liverpool and Brenda Moffett-Cowdery, and her fiance’, Vince Reed, with whom she resided of East Liverpool; a step-son, James Shenton of Chester, WV; three brothers, Ira VanFossen of Chester, WV, Robert VanFossen of East Liverpool and Alfred VanFossen of Elk City, OK; four sisters, Emma McGraw of Elk City, OK, Janet Black of Elk City, OK, Marjorie Luketic of of Aliquippi, PA and Georgia Gibson of East Liverpool; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren;
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, 3 sisters, Grace Hull, Esther Shenton and Mary Ann VanFossen.
Services will held at the East Liverpool Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, January 7, 2002 at 11:00 Am with Rev. Vicki Yoder of Hospice, officiating.
Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in East Liverpool on Sunday, January 6, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
The family suggests, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, P. O. Box 2398, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
