CYRIL J. JERRY BROWNING 77 OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO DIED TUESDAY DECEMBER 16, 2003 AT THE OHIO VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER IN WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA.

HE WAS BORN AUGUST 29, 1926 IN BELLAIRE, OHIO A SON OF THE LATE CYRIL JOHN AND PRAXADESE LYNSKEY BROWNING.

JERRY WAS A RETIRED LOAN OFFICER WITH THE BELLAIRE BRANCH OF BANK ONE, A MEMBER OF ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ST. CLAIRSVILLE. HE GRADUATED FROM BELLAIRE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1944 AND FROM WASHINGTON AND JEFFERSON COLLEGE IN THE CLASS OF 1950. JERRY WAS A LIFE MEMBER OF AMERICAN LEGION POST 52 BELLAIRE, HE SERVED AS A FORMER COUNCIL MEMBER FOR THE BELLAIRE CITY COUNCIL AND WAS A NABC MASTER OF THE AMERICAN CONTRACT BRIDGE LEAGUE. HE WAS A US NAVY VETERAN DURING WORLD WAR II SERVING IN THE PACIFIC THEATER FROM 1944 TO 1946 AND SERVED WITH THE US ARMY IN KOREA FROM 1950 TO 1952.

IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS, HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A BROTHER JOHN BROWNING.

SURVIVING ARE HIS WIFE, ELEANOR TOBIN BROWNING, THREE CHILDREN, JOHN T. BROWNING OF HOUSTON, TEXAS, CYRIL JAY BROWNING OF AUSTIN, TEXAS AMD JULIE KANYUCH AND HER HUSBAND RICHARD OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO, TWO SISTERS, PRUDENCE YOST OF KIAWAH ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA AND ROSEMARY CROWLEY OF CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA.TWO GRANDCHILDREN, JOE AND JAYNA KANYUCH OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE. JERRY ALWAYS FONDLY SAID, "HE ONLY HAD TWO GRANDCHILDREN, BUT THEY WERE QUALITY".

THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND A MEMORIAL FUNERAL MASS WITH LITURGY TO CELEBRATE JERRY’S LIFE ON FRIDAY AT 9:30 AM AT THE ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO WITH FATHER THOMAS A. CHILLOG, THE CELEBRANT.
