Virginia Beach-Curtis H. Baisden, 78, has gone to be with the Lord, on July 2, 2001 after a long struggle with emphysema.
Born in Boone County, West Virginia, January 27, 1923, he worked for Logan Grocery. He moved to Warren, Ohio in 1959 where he lived with his wife, Rubie for 40 years. He was in the US Army; 15th & 17th Cavalry from 1943-1946 where he served in Germany and France. He was a member of Austin Village Baptist Church for 22 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Baisden moved to Virginia Beach 18 months ago to be near their family, where they became the first members of the year 2000 at Great Neck Baptist Church. He retired in 1985 from Sara Lee as an Auditor and then worked for the NAPA Company for nine years.
Curtis and Rubie celebrated their 55th anniversary, May 8th, 2001.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Barry and wife Deborah; two grandchildren; Alena and Gregory and two sisters Imogene and Anita.
