My mother-in-law is Cristina Claro. Her sisters know her as Remidios, Remy for short. Most everybody knows her as Lola, I addressed her as, Ma.

We have been truly blessed to have Lola with us all these years, she was always with the kids, and caring for them. Lola loves her grand kids so much.

“Silent Night” were Lola’s last words to me on Thursday night. We spoke briefly, and then she said “Silent Night”, I said “yes Ma, it’s Christmas” and she said it again, “Silent Night” sweetly smiling, drifting off to sleep.

Lola’s passing on Christmas Eve doesn’t seem to me a coincidence, she loved Christmas time. Since November Lola was in pain, and I could hear her talking to God, asking why she had to endure such pain, and to please take her, she was ready to go. Its seems to me Lola received her Christmas wish, and peacefully passed on.

It will take us awhile to get used to our lives without Lola, I miss you so much Ma. I am longing for the time when we are together again.
