Constance O. "Connie" Battista, 79, of Benwood, died January 11, 2003 in Wheeling, WV. She was a homemaker; a member of of the St. James Catholic Church; St. James Rosary Altar Society; and the Benwood-McMechen Seniors. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katherine B. Kowalski Dudek; her husband Columbus J. Battista. Surviving are three sons, Robert N.Anna Marie Battista, Wheeling; Allen J.Sandi Battista, Canton, Ga; Mark Vickey Battista, Benwood; two brothers, Casimer Rose Dudek, and Alfred Dudek, Wheeling; two sisters, Isabella Habermas. Lavonia, Mi; and Wanda Horvath, Benwood, five grandchildren, J.R.Julie Battista, Wellsburg; Lynne Battista, Canton, Ga; Stacy Battista, Wheeling; Jenna and Caity Battista, Benwood, several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made St. James Catholic Church, 326 Logan St., McMechen, WV 26040.
