Clyde R. Bonar, 78, of Bellaire, Ohio, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at his home.

Clyde was born May 30, 1930 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Herman S. and Helena Stanko Bonar.

He was retired from Bellaire Local School District and attended the South Bellaire United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were a son Richard C. Bonar in 1989, four sisters, Violet Bonar, Edna Hamilton and infant twin sisters.

Surviving is his wife, Betty Lou Hess Bonar, a daughter Loretta K. Bonar-Woollard of Bellaire, two sisters Virginia Danley, and Agnes Ross Johnston all of Bellaire, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday 2-4p.m. & 6-8p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Wednesday with Reverend James Hoff officiating.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the South Bellaire United Methodist Church or the Neffs Fire Department.

My parents are Bob and Virginia Alexander. I remember Clyde as a teacher when I attended school in Bellaire. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He is now at peace with Jesus and is smiling down on his accomplishments as an instructor.
