A sister whom stole her only child, though she had three,

A daughter whom failed to come,

though she did tearfully plea,

A body abused by medical hands

entrusted to heal,

Surf she longed to walk in,

but never could feel,

All of these sorrows, most hearts would break,

But she trusted her Lord to ease her heartache,

By faith she saw her child home at her side,

What hoped for on earth must now in Heaven abide,

Her years of faithful, trusting prayers for those she loved appear unheeded,

But those she prayed for still walk this earth, and Jesus’ will shall not be defeated!

I give witness to my wife’s ever-trusting hope in God. She was the most consistent, devouted, and loving worshipper of Christ I have ever seen. A loving wife and mother.

Mr. Ray,

This is Monique Eppes… you know my father, Sgt. Eppes from Fort Eustis, and I’ve gotten to see you recently since I’m in Atlanta with Pastor Sam and Jeanne:- I just want you to know that my family and I love you and are praying for you. I know that things are overwhelming right now, and this is one of the most difficult things you’ll go through in life, but we are so blessed to be God’s children. He takes such great care of us, in ways we cannot understand. You and Ms. Claudia are two of the most selfless people I ever met… you two were always so giving of your time and hearts. God knows all the silent choices you’ve made to make sure He still gets the glory in all situations. My prayer for you is that He will make Himself even more known to you and just surround you with His love through authentic friendship at the point in your life. You are so loved and will continuously be lifted up in prayer:-

Ray,

The service for Claudia was truly beautiful. All of us could envision and laugh at the stories, because they were sooo true!

I have never seen ANYONE who could go through so much pain and heartache and still smile and have such faith in God. Her eyes told everyone how much she loved you.

It was good to see all the wonderful friends that came, they are very caring and sincere people, and I was honored to be able to meet them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love, Tracy & family

Ray,

We are so sorry for your loss yet ecstatic for Claudia’s gain. It was obvious that you loved Claudia as Christ loved the church and you added much excitement, joy, warmth, and laughter to a life that otherwise would have been consumed with disappointment and tragedy. Claudia was quite an inspiration to all of us as she showed great courage in the face of great personal challenges. You were exactly right about her smile. She could light up a room just with her presence. Her deep personal relationship with Christ is exactly what attracted others into a relationship with Claudia. Our lives are not going to be the same without her but it will just sweeten the anticipation of seeing her again in the Kingdom. God be with you and bless you. You have all our love.

Ray, I was quite surprise to hear about the lost of your precious wife. Holly and I sends our condolences to you. As you know, without anyone saying, that your wife is in the presence of our precious Lord. She is there praising Him face to face, I truely wish that I could have taken her place, but she was the one Blessed, by being held by Jesus Himself. Although, Holly and I will miss her dearly, I feel the comfort of knowing that Claudia is now and always had been in the care of Jesus. I could go on and on, but it would take more than a thousand characters that the guest book will allow. Just one more thing, let Holly and I know what we can do, if anything for you during this time of solace. God Bless you always. Love, Holly and Michael Smith.

Watching the video brought back some wonderful memories. I remember when you and Claudia started dating and then got married. It was always clear that you two adored each other. I only knew Claudia as a healthy, beautiful, vibrant woman so I can only imagine how difficult the last few years have been. Please know that you are close to our hearts at this difficult time.

We have lost our dearest Claudia.

Our hearts are broken…her gentle heart is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

From her beautiful daughter Emily Elizabeth Kiernan Sheaffer, her mother, sister, brother-in-law, three grandchildren, Lucas, Allison and Kristina. Also nieces Daphne Sheldon, Stephanie Ching, and nephew Michael Ching.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that covers a dry thirsty land; He hideth my life with the depths of His love, and covers me there with His hand.

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns, and filled with His fullness divine, I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God for such a Redeemer as mine!
