Clarice was married to my Uncle Mike. Together they shared many special years together. She was a very gracious lady. When she married my unlce, my grandmother said, “I like Clarice, she just like us, common folk.” Grandma was right, Clarice made us all feel at home. May she find peace.
Clarice will be missed by the many people who took care of her at Wyngate. I work in the kitchen there and when I first started she would help me in the diningroom wrapping silverware and keeping me company. My nickname is Bert and she often told me that her fathers name was Bert and it was okay for me to share that name. She will always be in my heart.
Even though I didn’t get to see Aunt Clarice often, I’ll always remember her warmth and smile. She always had a way of making us kids feel at home when we stopped by for a visit.
I remember aunt Clarice best for the times we visited her and uncle Mike while on vacation. We always made it a point when we came home to Wheeling to visit and catch up on all that was going on. She was always a cheerful person, and I still remember how much I enjoyed some of the dinners she made for us kids when we came to visit. I know she will be missed by all who knew her.
One of the highlights of our trips to Wheeling were the visit to Uncle Mike and Aunt Clarice’s house. There was always so much laughter, and you could see how much they loved each other. Clarice always had a hug and a smile for us. Her big heart and sweet ways will be missed.
