Coffield, Clarence A., 87, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Marshall County, WV, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling.
He was born June 17, 1921 in Marshall County, a son of the late Albert and Charlotta Givens Coffield.
Mr. Coffield was a retired farmer, who loved farming and animals, and was a Christian by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph V. Coffield.
Surviving are three brothers, Harold J. Coffield of Washington, PA, Robert W. Mary Coffield of Moundsville, John M. Coffield of Triadelphia, WV; five sisters, Alva Ealy of Prosperity, PA, Deloris Shields of Wheeling, Sarah E. Shape of Claysville, PA, Charlotta Paul Wright of Claysville; Emma Jane Eddie Edgell of Triadelphia; several nieces and nephews, including Charlotta Jerry Durbin of Moundsville.
Friends received 6-8 pm Thursday and 10 am until time of service at 11:00 am Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, with Brother Paul K. Smith officiating.
Interment at the convenience of the family.

Dear Lottie,

Thank you for taking such good care of Uncle Clarence. I know my mother really appreciates you. Uncle Clarence was one of the best men on earth and he will be missed dearly. We know now he is in heaven, he can walk again with no pain.

Dear Lottie, know in your heart that you did all you could possibly do for Clarence and no one could have been more devoted or caring. He is at peace now and his pain is gone. Love, Dale and Rosemary
