Charmaine Marie Higgins
Age: 73

Charmaine Marie Higgins, 73, of Anderson Blvd., East Liverpool, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at The Medical Center of Beaver after a lengthy illness. She was born in Wellsville, Ohio on April 6, 1929, a daughter of the late Carl G. Ward and Ruth F. Vennamen Ward.

Mrs. Higgins was a lifelong area resident, working as a finisher at T S & T and Homer Laughlin Potteries before her remaining home to take care of her children. Before her illness, she had attended the First Christian Church in Chester and in Calcutta. She attended Wellsville Schools.

She chose to share her life with her husband, John R. Higgins, Sr. on October 28, 1947.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her two son, John R. Higgins, Jr and his wife, Jean of East Liverpool and Richard A. Higgins and his wife, Susan of Yorkville, OH and a daughter, Debra L. Higgins-Shafer and her husband, Rob of East Liverpool; grandchildren: John R. Higgins, III and his wife, Michelle of East Liverpool, Ryan K. Higgins and his fiancee, Shannon Young, both of East Liverpool, Tiffany L. Higgins and Brad Higgins, both of Yorkville, OH, Leeandrea M. Shafer of East Liverpool and Baby Shafer due in August and one great grandson, Joshua R. Higgins.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two grandaughters: Amy S. Higgins and Shelly A. Higgins.

Services will be held at the East Liverpool Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Caster of Longs Run Presbyterian Church officiating.

Entombment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell, WV.

The family will be present to recieve friends at the funeral home in East Liverpool on Friday, April 19, 2002, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.

The family is requesting that Memorial Contributions take the form of donations to the First Christian Church in Calcutta.
