Charles P. Browning, Jr., 25, of RD 1, Glen Easton, WV, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born September 29, 1975 in GlenDale, WV.
Charles was in his third year of studies at the West Virginia University, in Morgantown. He was very involved in music and writing and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James P. and Vivian J. Clark; his maternal great-grandmother, Anna J. Norris; a cousin, David M. Fahey; his paternal great-grandparents, Charles and Verna Gallagher.
Surviving are his father, Charles P. Browning of Moundsville; his mother, Rosemary Clark Dorinzi and her husband James A. of Glen Easton; a sister, Olivia M. Browning and her friend Kurt E. Snider, of Morgantown, a nephew, Kaleb E. Snider of Morgantown; his paternal grandfather, Chauncey H. Browning, Jr. and his wife, Pat of Charleston, WV; his paternal grandmother May G. Browning of Moundsville; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV 26041 with Mr. Jason D. Clark officiating.
As an English instructor at WJU, I have had both Charles and Olivia in class and I enjoyed knowing them both. I also served as Charles’ advisor for a time. I am very sorry for your loss. He was a fine young man.
Charlie lived next door to us in Center Market. He was a very talented and nice person.
