Charles J. Dunn, 82, of Wheeling, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born in Bellaire, Ohio, May 23, 1918, son of the late Charles F. and Ida Mae Campbell Dunn.
He was the former owner/president of F&E Checkwriter Co. from 1960-1989; an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II; he was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling; a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 117, Bellaire, Ohio; and he attended The Ohio State University.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Dunn Gangwere.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Breyer Dunn; a daughter, Charlene Dunn-Gildner and her husband Don, of Rochester, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Garrett Charles Gildner of Albany, N.Y., and Candace Dawn Gildner of Rochester; a brother-in-law, William C. Breyer and his wife, Lillian, of Cleveland, Ohio; several nephews and nieces.
Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove.
Vigil service will be held at 3:30 pm Friday.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday at the St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Sobus as celebrant. Entombment in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, Wheeling.
