OBITUARY NOTICE

Charles E. “Chuck” Cook
Age 80

Charles E. “Chuck” Cook 80, of Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, OH passed away Monday, October 13, 2008 at Calcutta Health Care following a lengthy illness. He was born in East Liverpool, OH on April 17, 1928, a son of the late Pearl Cook and Mary Cain Cook Orr.

Mr. Cook retired from Ohio Edison Sammis Plant, where he worked as a Boiler Fireman for 19 years and was a member of the Ohio Utilities Union. He had previously worked for American Vitrified for 22 years and was Past President of their Local Union. He was a veteran of World War ll serving with the US Army.

His wife of 51 years, Helen Carpenter Cook, whom he married June 25, 1949, died September 15, 2000.

Mr. Cook is survived by three sons, Charles R. Cook and his wife, Janet of St. Clair, MI, Robert L. Cook and his wife, Karin of Seattle, WA and Roger D. Cook of Wellsville, OH; three grandchildren, Ashleigh, Faith and Evan.

Besides his parents and wife, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul Sturm of Calcutta Christian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Empire, Ohio

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Wellsville on Thursday, October, 16, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM

I’m really sorry for your loss, & sorry I hadn’t contacted your father when he was alive. We’re related through your grandmother’s Mary Cain family. My grandfather was your dad’s uncle, Paul A. Cain, of Haywood street, East Liverpool. I think is the connection. I spoke to your uncle Elmer cook years ago, before his death about the family genealogy. I also do that, so if your interested please contact me anytime!!
