CHANTAL MARIE ROTH, 27, of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Wednesday December 26, 2001 near Jacobsburg as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born April 19, 1974 in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of Louis Hoffman and Mary Ellen Rankin Hoffman.
Chantal was a pharmacy assistant at Wal Mart in St. Clairsville and a Catholic. She was a graduate of River High School.
Her husband, James E. Roth, also died as a result of the accident. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Irene and Robert Rankin and her paternal grandfather, Robert Hoffman.
Surviving are her son, James Logan Roth of the home; her mother, Mary Ellen Rankin Hoffman and Scott Everly of Powhatan Point, Ohio; her father, Louis Hoffman of Bellaire; paternal grandmother, Mary Hoffman of Bellaire and brother, Louie M. Hoffman, Jr. of Bellaire. Also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside on Sunday December 30, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM where services for Chantal and Jim will be held on Monday at 10 AM with the Rev. Father Frank C. Cronin officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shadyside Emergency Squad, 4210 Central Avenue,
Shadyside, Ohio 43947.
I grew up down the road from Chantal and we were really close.. I will truely miss her. I send out my condolences to her family.. I really regret not being able to attend the funeral.

I knew Chantal from going to school with her at River. I was really a friend of her brother,Louis. I would just like to extend my condoleces to the family . May God be with you all at this time and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I was able to spend time with Chantal at a recent wedding reception. She was full of life and really enjoying herself. I will hold all of You in my prayers.
