Chalmers “Earl” Kidder

Chalmers “Earl” Kidder, 88 formerly of East End passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Assisted Living Ministries in East Liverpool following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Holidays Cove, West Virginia on January 10, 1927 a son to the late Rufus Chad and Elsie Huber Kidder. Having lived most of his life in this area he worked as a clay maker for the Ferro Corp Louthan Plant for 37 years before retiring March 28, 1992. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by three daughters: Kathryn Kidder and her partner Wanda Lilly of Conway, SC, Marcia Richey and her fiancé Ken Gooding and Mashelle Taylor and her husband Tom both of East Liverpool, OH; a sister: Darlene Bickle of Lisbon, OH; a brother: Tom Kidder of Lisbon, OH; a step-brother: James E. Newland of Black River, NY; seven grandchildren: Jamie, Jerami, Christina and Bobbi Jo Richey and Erik, Tom and Erin Taylor; three great grandchildren: Summer Richey, Jazzy Taylor and Jerzey Taylor
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marcella Felger Kidder whom he married on September 15, 1947; a son: Richard “Jake” Kidder; a daughter: Sandra Butler; three brothers: Claire, Donald and William Kidder and one step-brother: Phil Newland.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Dirk Hall of Living Well Church officiating. Burial will take place in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 11:30 AM up until the time of the service at 1:30 PM where the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors.

Kathy-

So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Always remember all the good times I had with you & Jake when I worked at Riverview so many years ago and I think of you guys often. My prayers are with you & your family. Your mom & dad were always so good to me & made me feel so welcome when I stayed at your house.
