Ellia, Cecelia M., 85, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Wheeling, WV, died Monday, August 21, 2006 in Ohio State University Medical Center East.
She was born December 9, 1921 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Joseph Ellia and Rose Hourany Ellia Nickolas
Cecelia was a graduate of Wheeling Central High School and is a life long member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. She was known for her generosity, free spirit and love for dance.
She was a former retired federal employee of Defense Construction Supply Center DCSC.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Louis Nickolas, one sister, Lilly Hebdo, a brother, Joseph Nickolas.
Surviving is her sister Anna Nickolas of Wheeling and cousin Bishop John A. Elya Emeritus Eparch of Newton; three nephews Anthony Tonya Nickolas of Richmond, VA; Louis Sally Nickolas of Wheeling, WV; Sam Lisa Nickolas of Bridgeport, OH; many great nieces and nephews including Salema Roberto Rice of Columbus, OH; Maria Bill Kenyon of Canal Winchester, OH; Rose Oberst of Pickerington, OH; Lilly Vanvelzor of Sarasota, FL; Cecelia Thatcher of Westerville, OH; Charles Donna Hebdo of Bremen, OH; Regina Ralph Wade of Covington, VA; Joseph Hebdo of Gahanna, Ohio.
Friends received 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a rosary service will be held at 1:30 pm. August 23, 2006 with Rev. Bakhos Chidiac officiating. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

She was an Honor Roll Student, State Championship Basketball Player. Known as ‘One of the best, if not the best’ dancer in Wheeling. She had two marriages and no children. Many chances to marry for money, but always married for love, a hopeless romantic. She traveled extensively… her favorites were Europe, Lebanon, Mexico and the Caribbean.
