A resident of Newport News since 1943, Beatrice was a member of North Riverside Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving as the Sunday school teacher to the 4, 5, and 6 year olds, along with serving in various other positions. She retired as a secretary from NASA in 1988 after twenty two and a half years, taking time in the early seventies to work for the Newport News School System.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sandra McFall Lee and husband, John, of Williamsburg, Melinda McFall of New Jersey and Patti Liegl and husband, John, of North Carolina; a brother, Harold Thomasson and wife, Irene, of Collinsville, Va.; six nieces, Betsy Prillaman Whitlow, Rebecca Prillaman, Debra Thomasson Hurd, Karen Thomasson Foley, Jennifer Thomasson McGraw and Brenda Thomasson Arthur; 11 nephews, Larry Frank Thomasson, Delano Thomasson, Jimmy Thomasson, Clyde Prillaman, Douglas Prillaman, Tommie Thomasson, Joe Thomasson, Johnny Thomasson, Albert Lee Prillaman, Randolph Gold Prillaman and Mark Thomasson; and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at North Riverside Baptist Church, 311 Selden Road, Newport News. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, 500 Plume Street East, Suite 110, Norfolk, VA 23510.
