Carroll J. Ranels, 56, went to be with the Lord Nov. 30, 2001 in his residence. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus St. Matthews Council #10601 and a 4th, Degree Knights of Columbus Father M.J. O’Keefe Assembly #1162 of Norfolk. He was retired from the Navy after 22 years after which he worked as an electrician for Lake Taylor Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Ranels.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Cindy Ranels; his mother, Kathryn Ranels; two daughters, Angela Peterson and her husband Ted of Danville, VA, Melissa Ranels of Virginia Beach; one son, Patrick Ranels of Virginia Beach; one sister Judy Ranels-Trader of Alexandria, VA; one brother Michael Ranels of GA; one grandchild Zachary Peterson and a nephew, Kirk Trader.

The family will receive friends Mon. Dec. 3 from 7:00

Carrol will be greatly missed by his friends and co-workers at Late Taylor Hospital. May God be with you during this most grievous time.

Carroll is a true loss and will be missed by many. Carroll will especially be missed this Christmas. It was a favorite time of year for him. He loved to give presents to his family and friends.
