Carol Lee Matson, 54, died in her residence on Monday, January 20, 2003.
She was a graduate of Ohio State
“I had the opportunity to work with Carol for five years when I was employed by the CHROME Program at Old Dominion University. ‘Extraordinary’ is just one of the words that I can use to describe her. ‘Dedicated’ is another. She gave so much to the youth in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Her work will not be forgotten. It will live on in the lives that she inspired. May God keep you in this time of need. She will be missed by all who knew her.”
Carol was one of the special people in this world and will be missed greatly. Anything that she did she did well and with dignity and I was blessed to be able to call her “friend”.

I had the pleasure of working in the same department at Ford with Carol. As a friend and co-worker she will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I worked with Carol at Ford Motor Company and we had a great time together. I did have an opportunity to speak with her in November and was so impressed that she handling her illness so well. I commented to her about her faith. Hopefully, all of us will remember her smile and sense of humor.
I would like to offer my condolences to the family. I worked at Ford Motor Company with Carol many years. I know she will be missed by the family as well as Ford for the many years of dedicated service she has given. May God Bless you and give you strength during this time.
We are so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing, she was such a sweet person. The last time I saw Carol was at a cookout this past summer, you could tell she was in pain but was as cheerful as she could be. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
