Carl "Bucky" Ziemba, 79, of Fairpoint, Ohio, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
He was born September 6, 1926 in Fairpoint, Ohio, a son of the late Stanley and Anna Swiatek Ziemba.
He was a former coal miner for Consol Energy and a 60 year member of the UMWA.
He was a life long member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Fairpoint, Ohio, the Fairpoint Polish Club, Maynard PNA Lodge, a US Army veteran and a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Vargas Ziemba, his brothers; Andrew, Frank, Joseph, Stanley, John and Walther Ziemba and a sister, Julia Kanyuch.
Surviving are two daughters; Christina and her husband Bill Perry and Barb and her husband Butch Yudasz, both of St. Clairsville, a sister, Mary Klejko, two grandsons, Will and his wife Amy Perry, St. Clairsville, and Curt and his wife Natalie Perry, Benwood, WV and his great grandson, Curtis Isaac Perry, Jr.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Tuesday, at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio, where a vigil service will be held at 3:00 PM and a VFW visitation service will be held at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairpoint, Ohio, with Father Thomas Graven the celebrant. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.

So sorry to hear about Carl’s passing. He was a wonderful man and I’m glad to have known him. He and your mother did a wonderful job raising such a kind, caring family. Our sympathy and prayers are with you all.

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT A TRUE JOY IT WAS TO TAKE CARE OF SUCH A SWEET AND CARING MAN.CARL IS THE REASON I DO WHAT I DO,THE TIME I GOT TO SPEND WITH HIM HAS LEFT ME WITH SO MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES.HE ALWAYS SAID NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIS DAUGHTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES,HE WAS SO PROUD TO HAVE ALL OF THEM IN HIS LIFE.THE LAST FEW DAYS I HAD WITH HIM WILL STAY IN MY HEART FOREVER,ESPECIALLY ON THURSDAY WHEN HE KEPT ON ME ABOUT GETTING THAT BIRDS NEST DOWN ON THE FRONT PORCH, HE MUST OF TOLD ME 4 TIMES ABOUT IT GOING TO THE DOOR AND LOOKING OUT, I WAS BUSY AT THE TIME DOING LAUNDRY AND CLEANING UP BUT I DID GET A CHANCE TO GO OUT THERE AND KNOCK IT DOWN FOR HIM AND YOU SHOULD OF SEEN HIM WATCHING ME AND SMILING AT THE SAME TIME.HE TOLD 3 PEOPLE THAT DAY WHAT A GOOD JOB I HAD DONE GETTING THAT NEST DOWN.GOD I LOVED THAT MAN!!!TINA AND BARB ITS BEEN A PLEASURE TO HAVE MET SUCH CARING PEOPLE,CARL WAS SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU IN HIS LIFE.HE WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE COMPANION,I NOW KNOW WHY GOD BROUGHT ME BACK INTO HIS LIFE.
