Carl E. "Boots" Ward
Age: 78

Carl E. "Boots" Ward, 78, of Williamstown, WV died at his residence on Saturday, May 3, 2003 afte a brief illness. He was born in East Liverpool, OH on August 20, 1924, a son of the late Joseph Carl and Thelma Grace Allen Ward.

Mr. Ward lived most of his life in East Liverpool, moving to Williamstown, WV four years ago. He worked as a ladleman at MacIntosh-Hemphill before his retirement. He was a graduate of East liverpool High School in 1942, a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool and a US army veteran serving during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Martha Adkins Ward, whom he married May 18, 1956; a son: Joseph C. Ward of Pataskala, OH; three daughters: Carol A. Boggs of Columbus, OH , Saundra Kennell of Williamstown, WV and Karen Lawson of Philadelphia, PA; a step daughter: Nancy Hartzell of Washington, PA; two brothers: Richard Ward of Stockbridge, GA and Keith Ward of New Philadelphia, OH; five grandchildren and one great grandson.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Monday, May 5, 2003 from 6-8 PM. The family requests Memorial Contributions to the American Cancer Society.

My deepest condolences to the family of Carl Ward. I worked with Boots at Mackintosh-Hemp and had many good memories.I often wondered about him after we seperated work over 40 years ago. I will keep him in my prayers.
