BETH,

OUR CONDOLENCES ARE WITH YOU AND THE BOYS. KYLE AND I WERE AT THE BEAUTIFUL SERVICE TODAY BUT DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO VISIT WITH YOU – YOU HAD SO MANY VISITORS. HOWEVER, WE DID TALK WITH MATT AND ASKED HIM TO LET YOU KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING WE CAN DO, PLEASE LET US KNOW. I MENTIONED TO MATT THAT HE AND KYLE NEED TO HOLD THE DEFENSE TOGETHER ON THE TEAM, SO WHATEVER HE you all NEED, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU ALL. KEITH WILL MISS BRUCE ON THE SIDELINES – THEY SEEMED TO SHARE SOME OF THE SAME VIEWS WITH SOCCER. ONCE AGAIN, BETH – WE ARE HERE FOR YOU AND THE BOYS. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANYTHING. TAKE CARE WITH LOVE.

Beth,

I can’t remember if we’ve met or not, but my son, Shawn, was in one of Nicholas’ classes. I heard about your husband’s death from Amy Walton. I’m also a friend of Cathy Borchers. Her husband, Wayne, was one of the people that came to my door 10 years ago to inform me of my husband’s plane crash.

I wanted to express to you and your family my deepest sympathy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sincerely, Diane Atkins

Beth, Matt, and Nicholas,

I heard the news of Bruce’s death while on vacation in Gatlinburg, TN and it was devastating for both Tyler and I. I know that the loss cuts very deep right now, but through God’s help the pain will ease.

I know that each of you will miss Bruce’s physical presence in your lives, but you will always have the wonderful memories of his love and commitment that he had to each of you, that he showed on so many occassions.

Bruce’s love for soccer and for the development of Matt and Nick was monumental, and he showed this love through the uncountable hours that he gave to the complex, the Wailers, and to the sport in your area.

I consider Bruce a personal friend who always was there to listen, and he never forgot Tyler even though we were 100’s of miles away. For this I was grateful as Tyler loves the sport, and he considers his years on the Wailers as the most enjoyable.

Tyler and I will miss Bruce, but just like you we will always remember his achievements and love for people. What a difference he made in so many lives during his lifetime, and what a difference he will make in the lives of 1000’s of youth in the years to come through his commitment to Soccer and to the community.

We love you guys!

Jeff, Lori, Tyler and Madison

Bruce will be sorely missed both personally and professionally. He was a friend, a source of knowledge, and an industry leader and he will leave a void in all of Tidewater.

Dear Beth,

I wanted to send my condolences. I didn’t know Bruce, but I have a lot of respect for you. You were always kind and friendly during the tough high school years. I’m sure Bruce loved those qualities in you. He must have been extremely deserving since you chose him to share your life. I wish you and your children well. Remember all your good times together and be grateful for them.

Sincerely,

Vivian

I served with Bruce on many Board of Directors ; Gas Association, Heat pump, etc. Bruce was fun to be with and he had a mind for both business as hvac engineering. I recall several one-on-one conversations with him and I always felt he was so much smarter than the other competitors. Sad, to loose him at such a young age.I shall remember him fondly and with pleasant memories of his experiences recanted around the table. Bruce was the toughest, smartest of all the hvac community. Once in a while my company Stokley’s Services Inc would win a job from Bruce but it was indeed seldom . On the other hand Bruce made us all smarter by being so talented himself ! We knew we had to work very hard when we came up to him otherwise we would loose the job. Funny, I never ever regretted him being so talented .

Please accept my regrets for not being at his service today , I learned about everything late this morning & couldn’t be there. I will keep you and the sons in my prayers . Please let me know if you need advice or anything . I would be proud to help you. I’m so sorry,

Dick Shortt , Stokley’s Pres.
