Betty was a very special Red Hat Lady to me over the years. Each time I came to Chesapeake we met and laughed and talked. I am sure God is pleased to have such a very wonderful Angel in his heaven.Queen Shirley

Charles and Dean:

I felt fortunate to get to know my Aunt Betty better in the last 10 years since your Uncle Carey and Aunt Tony retired to Virginia. She was a funny and giving aunt and was loved by all her nephews and nieces. We will all miss her and are sorry for your loss.

God Bless,

Your mom became a beloved aunt to our son, Kevin. We take comfort knowing that while she has left many behind that love her, she is now with many that love her in eternity. We shall see her again. Until then,”Always in my heart.”

Dear Family and Friends of Betty, the real Angel Queen now. She was a very dear friend of mine, I live on the Eastern Shore of VA, and was always welcome to her monthly luncheons.

I have been trying for three days to get into this website and finally did. I was in a state of shock when I saw her obit in the Pilot. My sincere condolences to all of you, I know how you feel, she helped me a great deal to get thru the accidental death of my husband recently. I loved that gal an awful lot and have all of you on the prayer chain at church, Betty too. Love and God Bless, Sandy Storherr, Queen Foxy Mame of the Femme Fatales

Dear Lisa, Scotty and Dean,

So very sorry for your loss. We her friends have lost such a dear special friend and she will live forever in our hearts. My visits to Virginia Beach, eating at Harold’s and walking at Mt Trashmore will never be the same.

Dear Lisa, Scotty, Dean and Madison,

I have known your Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother for more than 5 years and in that time I have never meet anyone that could make you feel so very special. She just had a special quality that made everyone feel at ease with her and she made you feel like she had known you for a very long time. She never met a stranger and her special little phrase, “Always in my Heart” was just the way she was. I will miss her more than these words can say and she will always be in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday.

Hello Betty’s family. I was shocked to hear of Betty’s sudden passing. She was a terrific Queen Mum of the Victorian Angels of which I am a member. She was truly a charming lady and will be missed.

I met Betty one year ago when I join the Victorian Angels. Right from the first meeting Betty made me feel I had been a memeber from the beginning. She was a great Queen Mum and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

I worked with Betty years ago at Miller & Rhoads and then Hechts and she was always a fun and energetic lady. We would exchange greetings ever since when I found the occaision to be in the store or we ran into each other otherwise. I am so sorry for your loss and just wanted to let you know that there were many people outside the family that your Mother/Grandmother touched during her years on this earth. Thanks for sharing her with us!

My heart is so heavy and hurts. Betty was so SPECIAL. She truly never met a stranger. She would not close our chapter because a new member was a friend we had not met. I came to one of the first Red Hat meetings to show the angel jewelry I make. Before Mary Sandias and I left the meeting, she introduced us as new members. Mary was whispering to me–Did we join?–neither of us knew but—-We were honored to be Victorian Angels. I was so blessed to have Betty as a true friend. My symphony and love goes out to you. Betty was so proud of her family and that GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER!! I feel it was also a blessing she was with family during her illness. I know she is watching all of us and wants us to know she has peace and no pain. We will be with her again and she probably already has a few angels with red halos! Love to all, Tenah Trull

My husband and I fondly remember Betty from many years ago when Dean lived on Wilchester Glen Drive and she would come over to babysit. Our garages were across from each other and she would sit in the drive way and watch the children play. We would gravitate over to her and talk. She was always so pleasant. She had a great attitude and a great sense of humor. Even though we had not seen her in years we could easily recall her personality from the pictures in her memorial. She was a very lovely lady.

You are all in my heart! Betty INSPIRED me!! I have never met a more unique woman. Her radiance warmed a room the moment she entered. My Granddaughter, Ariel walked in Miss Betty’s ruby red slippers and wore her beautiful red hat with the trailing vail when she came to our Victorian Angel luncheons. She made my pink hatter feel like a royal Princess! How I loved our Queen Mum! Many Blessings to all of you.
