Hello, I just came across the memorial for Betty. I did not know her well but my grandfather was a Quesenberry and we did talk a few times. She was a wonderful help to me and I am so sorry for your loss.

I did not know Betty Jo, but I wish I had taken the time to visit after son Ray’s gracious invitation. We would have hit it off as I’m also interested in genealogy. Ray is a dear friend and one whom I know, from our many talks, took great care of Betty Jo in her final years. He talked about her in many ways such as getting the beach public access widened so her wheel chair would fit. He wanted to share so much his Chesapeake Bay with her Lynnhaven River. I am touched that he plans to donate some of Betty Jo’s land to Virginia Beach for a park on the river so that Betty Jo can join all those whose hearts and souls are grounded in that ole’ man river known to Native Americans as the Chesopean. God speed.

I was so sorry to hear of Betty Jo’s death. She was such thoughtful, caring, and generous person. She was faithful to visit, send cards, and bring gifts to my Mom, Ida Young. She never forgot a birthday. We will always be indebted to her for her geneology work and for the love she demonstrated to our Mom as well as to the whole Young family. My condolences to the family. I symnpathize with you in the loss of one so dear.

I will always be thankful for the lessons that Betty Jo has taught me over the years. She was a kind and generous person, and a wonderful mother-in-law, who always made me feel loved. I loved her, “One Cup History” family recipe/genealogy book. She was so creative! We will miss her terribly.

We especially Dru is going to miss her terribly. We join in your loss but also rejoice knowing she and Julian are enjoying the love and presence of God whom they loved so much. Genealogist humor says she is rejoicing with ALL those she came to know in her research!!! We love you guys….
