Betty was one of those people you meet and feel like you’ve known her all your life. I enjoyed her company, her vitality and her feisty attitude. She always made me laugh and made me feel like she was genuinely happy to see me. I wish I had been able to spend more time with her and get to know her better. Barry and I will miss her.

Dear Melissa and Family

I am sorry that I was unable to attend the service for your mother. Betty and your Father were the most incredible people that I have ever been fortunate enough to meet. It seems like yesterday that I can still recall the first time I talked to them at Cook’s grocery store. Through visits at their home I quickly saw that they were blessings to everyone that they came in contact with. Just this past week, I was going through boxes and found a wonderful letter of encouragement that your mother wrote to me. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your loss. Betty provided so much warmth and light to so many people. I am fortunate to have known her and Rocky. God Bless Bob Ney

Dear Melissa,

The whole neighborhood on Lincoln loved your mother. She was a very special woman. She was known for her kindness.

The last time I talked to her was when I drove her home from the beauty shop this summer. She wanted to see our new puppy. I took him out to see her and of course, she cuddled and made a big fuss over him. Then she said something I won’t forget. She said,”Dogs love you the way God does – unconditionally.”

Now I know she is with her loving heavenly Father, because she was a dedicated Christian.

I’m so sorry for your loss. We’ll pray for God to give you his comfort and peace during these difficult times.

I have just learned of Betty’s death. She was a dear old friend from my days in the ICU at OVGH. Even though I hadn’t seen Betty in over 25 years we exchanged Christmas cards every year. She was so proud of her family and shared all their accomplishments. I know she is glad to be with Rocky…she was one in a million..I will miss her.

Melissa and family-

What a blessing to have gotten to see Betty when we ran into each other at the hospital recently. I have so many great memories of working with her in Special Care and especially her amusing us on the night shift. May you find comfort that she is safe in heaven with your Dad.
